ORADELL, N.J.- The Ironmen went into Saturday’s game (9/23/22) at Bergen Catholic fresh off a loss to Iona Prep the week prior. Bosco was determined to leave that loss in the past, as they rolled past the No. 1 ranked Crusaders with a score of 31-7. This win was a crucial win for the Ironmen as they knocked off their biggest rivals.

Bosco was playing without their star running back, Ronnie Heath, which, going into the game looked like a major blow to an already injury-ridden team. The underclassmen showed up to play regardless, as running backs Logan Bush (‘24) and Nolan James (‘25) combined for 178 yards rushing. James scored 2 touchdowns as well as 1 touchdown punched in by Bush.

Delaware commit, Nick Minicucci (‘23), went 9 for 14 on passes, throwing for 153 yards and 2 passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 59 yards.

Bergen Catholic’s lone touchdown was scored off a 69 yard rush from Junior Kaj Sanders (‘24). Other than that, Don Bosco’s defense was electric, holding Senior quarterback Jack Duffy (‘23) to only 83 yards in the air.

This is a huge win for the Ironmen and will serve as additional momentum for the team heading into Friday’s matchup, September 30, against St. Peter’s Prep at MetLife Stadium.
