Oradell, New Jersey– Bergen Catholic High School was the scene of one of the biggest high school rivalries in America over the weekend between the Don Bosco and Bergen Catholic football teams. Don Bosco came out on top of this conflict 31-7 with a dominant performance.

A big part of what makes this rivalry so good are the student sections. The students from both schools have a grudge against each other about which school is better between the two. The grudge between these students is what makes the atmosphere around the game so good as everyone wonders who will be victorious over the other.

The Don Bosco student section was completely full and the overflow students gathered around the fence to cheer on their team. As the game went on and Don Bosco’s lead continued to grow, the student section continued to grow louder as the Bergen Catholic student section grew quieter and quieter.

Sean Nagle, a senior at Don Bosco, said, “The student section was electric. It’s super fun supporting your brothers on the field to beat Bergen. It makes me proud that I made the right choice, coming to Bosco.”

“To say Bosco is a brotherhood is all words until you go to one of our football games.”

Sonny Nagle, Sean Nagle’s brother and a sophomore at Don Bosco, said, “The Ironmaniacs are a group of senior leaders who get the whole student section hype with different chants during these games. So much more could be said but it is better to experience it firsthand with the people you see everyday!”

Many students enjoyed their experiences at the football game this weekend as the school came together to support the football team giving it their all on the field. It was great to see the brotherhood at Don Bosco in action during the game as the community was unified together under the one goal of beating Bergen Catholic.
