RAMSEY, N.J.-The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen will be making a return to MetLife Stadium on September 30th for a week 6 matchup to face a familiar opponent. After a loss in the state championship game to Jersey City’s St. Peter’s Prep in the 2019 season, the Ironmen will be returning to MetLife stadium for a regular season game against the Marauders.
The No. 1 ranked Ironmen will face the No. 2 Marauders for a showdown three years after their state championship battle in which the Ironmen fell 21-14. The only remaining starters from that game for the Ironmen being seniors Chase Bisontis and Chris Moreno.
MetLife stadium usually only holds state championship games but this time it will be for the regular season. Don Bosco QB Nicholas Minicucci ‘23 stated how “It’s indescribable, it’s such a big stadium and such a big stage.”
Don Bosco Prep is coming fresh off of a 31-7 victory over arch rival and previously ranked No. 1 Bergen Catholic while St. Peter’s coming off of a 41-38 comeback victory over St. Joseph Regional.
Both teams are hungry for an important victory on Friday because the winner will most likely be ranked No. 1 in the state afterwards. Both teams have had many of their games this season come down to the wire and this matchup should be a good one.
