RAMSEY, NJ The Don Bosco Varsity Winter Track Team finished another successful season, excelling in a wide variety of events and growing as individuals on a team with every practice and meet.
Many Ironmen reached incredible personal milestones and broke team records – several were honored at the League, County, and State levels.
The Ironmen finished the Winter Track Season with five All-League Runners: Paul Maguire (1st Team 3200m), Thomas Petrie (2nd Team 800m), Colin Hall (2nd Team 1600m), Luke O’Brien (2nd Team 3200m) and Justin Parris (3rd Team / Honorable Mention).
Paul Maguire was named to 1st Team All-County in the 1600m. Six Ironmen qualified as New Balance Nationals Runners: Justin Parris (Freshman 400m 9th Overall & DMR), Paul Maguire (1600m “Rising Stars”, 3200m Championships & DMR), Owen Hickey (DMR), Thomas Petrie (DMR), Gregory Celariste (DMR) and Jack Dowd (DMR).
Lastly, three athletes recorded new school records: Paul Maguire (Varsity 1600m – 4:18.98), Oliver Stroka (Hammer Throw) and Justin Parris (Freshman 400m – 52.95).
The 2022-23 Winter Track squad built a team community that allowed them to push one another to get better every day while having fun every step of the way. With this successful season now in the books, the Ironmen are poised to achieve even greater success in the Spring.
