RAMSEY, NJ – When searching for high schools to attend, many will just get a tour of the school by some type of tour guide but it’s not the same as a regular class day. The Ironman Experience is a day for students to explore the on campus experience at Don Bosco Prep.
The Ironman Experience pairs students looking to attend DBP for their high school years with a current DBP student. It’s an opportunity not only for the student but also for the ambassador. It gives the ambassador an opportunity to be a good role model and represent DBP for the student.
Learning these things can help sway students into making a decision about what high school they want to attend. They get a better understanding of the environment and atmosphere at DBP.
Students start their day at the Chapel in Immaculata Hall where they meet their ambassador for the day. If the student has a family connection to a student currently attending DBP, they can be their ambassador for the day. The students then go around the school with their ambassador walking around the campus and meeting and talking to teachers and coaches. They can stop by classrooms and get a feeling for the classroom’s environment. Students visiting the school then get free lunch from Sage Dining in the cafeteria.
At the end of the visit students go back to the chapel with their ambassador and get together with their parents/guardian for a final talk about DBP. The day is a good opportunity for students to engage with staff and learn more about DBP.
