RAMSEY, NJ – Tuesday led the way to another exhilarating day of events at Don Bosco Prep for Spirit Week.
The students participated in “Anything But a Backpack” day, on which students walked around the school with a variety of fun and goofy assortments of bags and containers. Some students brought simple items like shopping baskets, strollers, pots, and suitcases. Others fully committed to the theme, and some of the most impressive finds of Tuesday included a wooden pallet, a bookshelf, and a surfboard.
At the end of the day, Bosco students participated in Pickleball, a Push-up contest, and Two-ball.

The festivities began with a prayer and blessing from Father Abe. For the Pickleball brackets, the Freshmen were put up against the Juniors, and the Sophomores were put up against the Seniors. The Seniors won their match against the Sophomores, and the Juniors won their match against the Freshmen. The Seniors took first place after beating the Juniors 16 to 9. The Juniors took second place, the Sophomores third, and the Freshmen fourth. The two Seniors who reigned victorious were Thomas McDougall and Jack Fortescue.

The following event was a tense Push-up contest. The Sophomores gave out first, followed by the Seniors and then the Juniors. The Push-up contest took everyone by surprise when the Freshman, William Webb, won with an impressive 74 push-ups.

The events for Tuesday were wrapped up with Two-ball. Two-ball is a competitive game using a basketball that assesses a person’s accuracy with shooting. The Seniors, Pat Hart and Tyler Hunter, paced through and once again claimed a victory for the Senior class.
