Don Bosco Prep vs. Paramus Catholic

On Saturday October 21, the Ironmen defeated the Paladins in a dominant away 56-21 victory.  Bosco continues to be the second best team in New Jersey according to MaxPreps.

Don Bosco’s run-and-throw game picked apart Paramus Catholic’s defense throughout the entire game.  Quarterback Nick Minicucci (‘23) had one of his best games last Friday, garnering himself a QB rating of 157.1.  The Senior quarterback threw for 230 yards, attempting 17 throws and completing 13, two of those being touchdowns.  Minicucci only ran for 11 yards, but got himself a rushing touchdown.  Running back Logan Bush (‘24) ran riot against the Paladins.  The Junior ran for a monstrous 168 yards on 15 carries, getting himself 3 touchdowns.  Running back / wide receiver Nolan James (‘25) demonstrated his versatility last Friday.  James ran for 63 yards on 7 carries, getting 2 rushing touchdowns; he also caught 4 passes for 59 yards and a touchdown.  Wide receiver Dan Parisi (‘23) had a strong game, catching 7 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown.  Kicker Jack Donnelly (‘25) had his third game in a row, going 100% from PAT attempts going 8/8.  

Defensively the Ironman only allowed the Paladins to score 3 touchdowns, and subsequently 3 PATs.  Wide receiver Omaree Walker (‘23) returned to defensive back, and tied with the most tackles on the team with 3 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles.  Safety Nick Severin (‘23) and safety / defensive back Mack Gutjahr were the other two that tied Walker.  Severin got 4 solo tackles and an assisted tackles, Gutjahr got 2 solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles.  Running back-recently-turned- linebacker Ryan Bullock (‘23) had a solid game getting himself 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle.  Safety Carson Cherven (‘25) and safety Conor Cosgrove (‘24) were able to pick off the Paramus Catholic quarterback: Cherven got 1 interception, and Cosgrove got 2.  

The Ironman were impressive on both sides of the ball in their win against the Paladins.  Bosco looks ahead to its next game against DePaul Catholic.  This is the Ironman’s last game of the regular season, and it will be their Senior Night.
